We predicted that Nintendo Wii Fit would be in very short supply until January 2009, this is especially true for stock priced at £69.99/£68.50. The much anticipated game Wii Fit was released on the 25th of April 2008. Priced at £69.99, this game was tipped to be Nintendo UK's biggest selling game of the year. Wii Fit comes bundled with the Wii balance board, a wireless pressure sensitive device that resembles a weighing scales. We predicted that Wii Fit stock would run out soon after launch. The main reasons being...

• Demand - The Wii was praised for its health and fitness benefits and Wii sports went some way to deliver that. Wii Fit along with the balance board takes this a step further as it is even more interactive, requiring more physical input. People that bought a Wii console for its fitness benefits are sure to want to buy Wii Fit.
  
• The Wii Balance board / Wii Board - A number of third party developers are already working on new games that utilise the Wii balance board. Whether they're bothered about fitness or not, people will have to purchase the Wii Fit bundle if they want to get their hands on a Wii balance board.
  
• Manufacturing issues - Nintendo have always had problems producing hardware. Their manufacturing problems don't stop with the Wii, they also ran out of controllers last year and are still having major problems supplying Nintendo DS consoles. With a normal game it's quite easy to burn more discs, but when you have a hardware component like the Wii board, it gets a whole lot harder to ramp up production rates.
