The original Wii package revision contained Wii Sports, a single Wii Remote & Nunchuk. In July 2009, following the release of Wii Sports Resort and the new Wii MotionPlus technology, all UK Wii console packages were updated. The original Wii remote was changed for a Wii RemotePlus unit and Wii Sports Resort was added to the standard Wii package.

In November 2011 (EU and UK) Nintendo released a new revision of their Wii console. There were two notable changes to the hardware. Firstly the new model is no longer backwardly compatible with Gamecube games and secondly it is no longer an option to stand the console vertically. The plastic vertical mounting support has been removed from all packages.
With the release of the new revision Wii console, several new packages also appeared. Most of these packages shipped without Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort.
